Triangle Area, North Carolina

Indoor Billboard Advertising Across the Triangle Area

Seventeen indoor venues running from Morrisville and Youngsville down through Raleigh and Garner, east into Clayton and Smithfield, and out to Rocky Mount — one commuter market, bought as one.

The Market

What the Triangle Area Cluster Actually Covers

Digital Wave buys the Triangle Area as one market, and the venue footprint shows why. The 17 venues in this cluster start in Morrisville on the Research Triangle Park edge of Wake County and in Youngsville up in Franklin County, run down through Raleigh and Garner, cut east into Clayton and Smithfield in Johnston County, and end at Rocky Mount on the I‑95 corridor. That is a commuter geography rather than a downtown one. People here sleep in one county and clock in at another, and the driver having lunch in Garner is often back in Raleigh by two.

The engine underneath it is increasingly manufacturing and life science rather than state government. Novo Nordisk’s Clayton campus is working through a $4.1 billion expansion announced in 2024 that adds roughly 1,000 jobs and about 1.4 million square feet of fill-and-finish space, with the new capacity due to come online between 2027 and 2029. Grifols runs a large biomanufacturing operation in the same county. Between them, they are a good part of why Johnston County came out of the 2020 Census as the fastest-growing county in North Carolina.

Rocky Mount anchors the eastern end. CSX built its Carolina Connector intermodal terminal there on roughly 325 acres a few miles off I‑95, and Pfizer’s Rocky Mount plant turns out a meaningful share of the sterile injectables used in American hospitals. Smithfield sits at Exit 95 with Carolina Premium Outlets and its eighty-plus stores pulling shoppers off the interstate from well beyond the county line. Morrisville holds the western end of the cluster: hemmed in by Raleigh, Cary and Durham with Research Triangle Park and RDU on its doorstep, it is covered here by Bambino’s Pizza at McCrimmon Corners.

The practical read for an advertiser: nearly a third of this cluster is gym floor. Five Fit4Life locations sit in Raleigh, Clayton, Smithfield and two separate Garner sites, and gym screens are a frequency instrument — a membership brings the same people back to the same room. The restaurants, the pizzeria, the sports bar and the saloon pick up evening and weekend traffic instead. A dental practice and a rental-management office add professional-office placements. Home services, healthcare, automotive, staffing and local hospitality all sit naturally in that mix, and none of it depends on a tourist season, because this cluster does not have one.

Getting Started Here

What a Triangle Area Buy Involves

01

Pick your slice

Take all 17, take the Johnston County side only, or take gyms only. The cluster does not have to be bought whole.

02

Send artwork or let us build it

Static or motion, one design or a rotation. Nothing has to be installed on your end.

03

Go live

Your spot enters the loop at the venues you chose and replays through the trading day.

Rates depend on how many venues you take and for how long — current packages are laid out on the indoor billboards page. If you own a Triangle-area room and want a screen in it, that side is covered on the venue partner page.

Nearby Markets

Markets That Pair Well With the Triangle

Advertisers running the Triangle Area often add one of the neighbouring clusters to the south or east, because the same commuter flows carry straight across the county lines.

  • Benson, NC — the I‑95/I‑40 junction town just south of the Smithfield screens
  • Dunn, NC — the next stretch of I‑95 south, in Harnett County
  • Fayetteville, NC — the Fort Bragg market about an hour down the interstate
  • Greenville, NC — east of Rocky Mount, the ECU hub
