Market Notes
Greenville is the seat of Pitt County and the primary employment hub for eastern North Carolina, drawing thousands of inbound commuters from surrounding counties every working day. Two institutions dominate that pull. East Carolina University is one of the largest campuses in the University of North Carolina System, with enrollment above twenty-four thousand and its own medical school, the Brody School of Medicine. ECU Health Medical Center — the Level I trauma center and teaching hospital attached to Brody — is the single largest employer in eastern North Carolina, and the wider ECU Health system spans nine hospitals and roughly thirteen thousand staff. In recent years those two have been the most active hirers in the county, and Pitt County unemployment has run at generational lows.
That combination gives Greenville a rhythm no other market on our network shares. Its busy season is the academic year, not the summer. From late August through spring the student population is present and the city’s food and drink trade runs at full strength; over the summer that layer thins out while the hospital, which never closes, carries on at the same pace. If you are timing a Greenville campaign, the coastal logic is exactly inverted — the beach towns peak when Greenville quiets down.
The city’s commercial past is still legible in its street grid. Greenville grew into the largest tobacco market in the state, and the Tobacco Warehouse Historic District downtown is on the National Register. That same district, now marketed as Uptown Greenville, has been rebuilt around independent restaurants, galleries, bars and festivals, which is where our placements sit tonally: evening rooms serving a mix of students, hospital staff coming off shift, and residents of a city that has more than doubled in size since 1960.
Placements
Small and specific. All three placements are food-and-drink rooms: one taproom and two restaurants, across two venue types.

Straight Answer
Sometimes yes, sometimes no, and we would rather say so here than after you have signed. Three placements in a city of this size will not blanket Greenville. What they will do is put a brand in front of the same food-and-drink audience repeatedly, which works well for a business with a physical location nearby, for an employer recruiting locally, or for a regional advertiser adding Greenville to a multi-market run.
If you need broader eastern Carolina reach, the practical move is to buy Greenville alongside New Bern, which carries eight venues and a completely different audience profile. If you need volume in one city, the network is deeper elsewhere. Either way, the rate card and rotation details live on the billboards page rather than being quoted differently on every city page.
